The Chef

The person behind the kitchen.

My name is Gabe, I’m 18, and I’m in my second semester of Computer Science at PUCRS. If this blog were a restaurant, I’d be that cook who learned everything on his own before ever setting foot in culinary school — and who still holds the knife wrong because it works.

The base ingredient: Linux

I started messing with Linux when I was 10. Eight years later, it’s still my mise en place: everything I build goes through it. I’m into low-level programming, systems programming, cybersecurity, and vulnerabilities — meaning I like knowing what’s happening under the lid, not just plating what’s already cooked. Math is the salt: you only notice it when it’s missing. I’m an unapologetic fan of Linus Torvalds and open source culture. It’s the recipe left open on the table for anyone to take and improve.

The family recipe

My parents worked hard to give me stability. That’s not a throwaway line — it’s the foundation of everything I think about effort and determination. I learned early that nothing good comes out of the oven unless someone woke up before the sun. I value that in myself, and I recognize it in others.

The menu

Here you’ll find code, systems, security, Linux, and a probably excessive number of food metaphors. When a subject grabs me, I don’t order the tasting menu — I eat the whole dish and ask for the recipe.
